Update on the Robinsons Plans
Travel to the US on December 8, 2001 for
anticipated surgery
Dear Praying Friends and Supporters of the Robinsons,
The Robinsons are planning to leave home on Carriacou a little after 5:00 AM on January
8, Monday morning, to board the Osprey sea shuttle. We should leave Carriacou
by 6:00 AM and arrive on the Grenada Mainland around 7:15 AM. Lord willing, we will be
picked up by a gracious Christian family who will take us to their home where I (Walter)
can lay back and prepare for the long plane ride back to West Virginia.
We are due at the Point Saline International airport at 1:00 PM Atlantic Time (12:00
Eastern time), where we are supposed to pick up our airline tickets. We are then to be
assisted to board a plane (British West Indies Airlines, BWIA or simply
BeeWee). We are scheduled to fly out of Grenada at 3:00 PM and arrive at Port
of Spain, Trinidad about 3:45 PM. We are then scheduled to change to another plane and fly
to Dulles International, Washington, DC. From there we are to fly on to Charleston, West
Virginia and are due to arrive about 11:00 PM Eastern Time.
The next day, Tuesday, January 9, we are scheduled to see a bone specialist at 3:00 PM.
I hope that the Lord will work out the details and provide so that corrective treatment
(surgery) on my damaged knee can be undertaken right away.
Cross Lanes Bible Church has made their missionary apartment available to us for the
interim and we may be contacted there at 304-776-1619. We hope that when healing has
progressed enough we will be able to free up the missionary apartment by staying with my
mother and our daughter in Beckley, West Virginia, about 60 miles south of Charleston. All
plans are obviously subject to change according to the Lords leading and provision.
Please pray for us in the following:
- My enduring the trip to the US. (Currently I can set up for only a matter of minutes
before the pain becomes often intense to unbearable. (The 75-minute trip on the Osprey
back to Carriacou almost made me pass out at one point.) Please pray that my tissue damage
will heal to the point that the pain would be minimal and need no pain medication during
the trip.
- Financial provision for travel and medical treatment. (Our health coverage group will
only cover up to $5,000.00 for each illness or incident.)
- The right orthopedic surgeon and facilities to put me back together.
- For Linda and Jeshua as they literally wait on me hand and foot during this period of
time.
- For the folks of Windward Bible Church as they continue on in our absence. Pray that
they will not become disillusioned, discouraged, or doubting God because of what is
happening.
- For two missionary couples who are graciously and courageously taking the ministry of
Windward Bible Church under their care and guidance during our absence. (I will provide
more specifics at a later time.)
- For God to glorify Himself and have His perfect will with us as we trust Him through
this time.
Still looking up for Him,
Walter Robinson II |
