VR Movie of a beautiful view as seen from the Princess Royal Hospital in Belair, Carriacou.

When the image first loads and becomes viewable, you are overlooking Carriacou's only town of Hillsborough, facing southwest. As you continue to scan right and overlooking the sea to the west, you pan pass a couple of little buildings, then look to the north at a larger doctors' housing area or dorm building directly behind the small station wagon. Behind the dorm is the satellite dish complex for the local Granada Cablevision television cable supplier.

The next and largest building to the right and due east is the main hospital. The left end of the buildingwith the steps and ramp leading up to the dooris the emergency room, clinic, and pharmacy area. Further right, the central portion behind the tree is the main admission area. It is located between the male section (to the left) and female section (to the right). The last jutting out portion on the far right is the kitchen and office areas.

The tree in the circle in front of the hospital is a flamboyant, and produces bright red flowers that are quite brilliant and pretty.

Lastly, there are a couple iron canons that are left over from the old days when the French and British fought over this portion of the Caribbean. It was a common practice to place canons on high vantage points to protect the bays from enemy ships. I do not know just how old these two are, but I would venture to guess that they are at least two hundred years old.

Images were taken in April of 2002, in the middle of the dry season.
