Update on the Robinsons Plans
Surgery Scheduled for Walter on January 17, 2000
Dear Friends, Supporters, and Prayer Partners of the Robinsons,
We arrived in West Virginia weary and frazzled after a rather stressful trip from the
Caribbean on Tuesday, January 9. (That is another story in itself) Our specialist
cancelled our original appointment for that same day due to a death in his family, and
rescheduled it for that Friday, January 12.
Thankfully, most of my injuries are healing nicelyincluding the broken
collarbone. However, I have seen the specialist who confirmed that my knee is going to
take surgery to repair. I am scheduled to go into Thomas Memorial Hospital (in South
Charleston, WV) at 2:30 PM tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17. Surgery is expected to begin
about two hours later.
Please pray for the following:
- That all-necessary surgical repairs will be made to the knee during the one
surgery.
- That the cartilage will be in good shape and useable.
- That I will have no trouble with donor bone graph material
- That the Great Physician will guide my doctor, anesthesiologist, and all support
personnel.
- That I will remain infection free.
- That the pain will be managed effectively.
- That healing will proceed rapidly with no complications.
- Financially meeting the expected cost that will most likely exceed what our health
coverage group will provide.
Please remember to pray for our folks that attend Windward Bible
Church back on Carriacou, and also pray for the missionary families that
stepped in to lead our folks in our absense.
If anyone has any questions they may contact Linda or me by the information supplied on
our contacts page.
Still looking up for Him,
Walter Robinson II

Dear Friends, Supporters, and Prayer Partners,
Walt checked into Thomas around 2:30 p.m. and was taken into surgery about 3:15. The
Doctor was able to repair the knee and the ligament. (which was punctured) His surgery
lasted almost three hours. We ask that you will continue to pray that there will be no
complications and that his healing will go quickly. Pray also that he will be able to rest
and that the pain will be managed effectively.
In His Service,
Linda

Home and Healing
Dear Friends, Supporters, and Prayer Partners,
We rejoice in the fact that Walt is now home and starting to heal. He was released from
the hospital on Monday around noon. The surgeon put eight or nine screws and a plate in
his knee and did a bone graph to repair the damage. He has a nice incision about eight to
ten inches down the front of his leg, it kind of resembles a zipper. His first night home
was painful until about 3:00 in the morning, but he still rested a lot better than he did
in the hospital. I havent figured out why he didnt enjoy his stay there. Oh
well, Jessie and I love having him home and we are thankful that his fever has gone down
some. Please pray that it will go down to normal. He has an appointment to see his doctor
on Tuesday to have the staples removed. He is improving day by day which is an answer to
prayer. Please pray that his check-up goes well.
Pray for Windward Bible Church that the people will be faithful to the Lord. Pray for
the missionary families have taken over in our absence, that that the Lord will give them good health and increased
stamina as they carry on their ministry and fill in for us. We are thankful to these dear
men for being faithful servants of the Lord.
And we offer thanks to you dear folks who stand in the gap and continually lift us up
to the Lord. We can truly say, without the Lord and you the ministry on Carriacou would be
in vain.
In His Time,
Linda

Lord willing, Walt is to start therapy
Dear Friends, Supporters, and Prayer Partners,
Thanks so much for your continual prayer for Walter. He went today to get his staples
taken out, all twenty-three of them. The assistants prompt and quick procedure only
brought twenty-one flinches from Walt. Then they used some kind of adhesive to seal
butter-fly like band-aides over his incision. The adhesive makes his leg smell like it was
singed. The doctor said that his x-rays looked good and that his leg was healing okay.
Lord willing and providing he will begin having therapy three times a week to start
bending the knee as soon as possible.
Thank you for your prayers, cards, gifts, and phone calls. We appreciate your
thoughtfulness and acts of kindness. He enjoys reading the cards and talking with friends
when the pain is not so noticeable. Also it helps to keep him from suffering "cabin
fever" so much. We desire your prayers as he starts this next phase of the healing
process.
Please continue to pray for the other missionary families here that are continuing
the ministry of Windward Bible Church in our absence. We really do appreciate their labor
for the Lord on our behalf. We have been told that the attendance is still good.
Servants of the Lord,
Linda for the family
