When the image first loads and becomes viewable, you are looking west up the jetty toward the Village of Windward. (Click here to see a VR movie above the Village of Windward. Click here to see photos from within Windward.) At the end of the jetty, and to the right as viewed here, is a building with four windows facing the Caribbean. The right side of this building (the two windows on the right end) is the meeting place of Windward Bible Church. As your pan on around to the right you are viewing just a few of the houses on the shore along the northern part of Windward. A you continue to pan right you will eventually leave the shore of Carriacou to the north. From there you can faintly see a few of the islands located north of Carriacou that belong to the Caribbean nation of St. Vincent. Turning more to the northeast you are beginning to look across Watering Bay (Bay Ä L'eau) and can see just a few of the vessels that regularly come into Windward. Many are owned by fishermen and sailors in that live in Windward. As you pan on around until you are looking out toward the other end of jetty, you are looking due east with Carriacou's sister island, Petit Martinique (PM), off in the distance about 3.25 miles away. The island located to the left of PM is the resort island of Petit St. Vincent (a possession of St. Vincent). Onward to the right you are still looking across Watering Bay until you see Carriacou reappear in the distance at a point. That is Point St. Hilaire. From there and panning on to the right and southwestward is the village of Bay Ä L'eau that eventually fades behind the southern tip of the Village of Windward once more. You can not see it very well from this vantage point, but the village of Windward has numerous houses dotting the hillside throughout the community.
The Village of Windward is beautiful, scenic, and a simple place. It
is surpassed in size only by the town of Hillsborough. It is a nice
fishing village of mostly Scottish ancestry with hardworking friendly
people that hold tightly to tradition. We count it a privilege to have
a meeting place here to share the gospel of Jesus Christ as "the
way, the truth, and life." It is our mission to tell all here how
the Lord Jesus offers the free gift of eternal life to each and
all apart from all works. (Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-10;
Romans 4:1-5, 6:23) It is also our privilege to inform each that once
a person receives this gift, God promises to never take it
