The Robinsons’ Herald
E·mail version for December 2003
Greetings from ‘Next to Heaven’
in Carriacou, Grenada, West Indies!
Greetings from the beautiful and very comfortable
Caribbean. It is now in the
low to mid eighties during the day with a nice breeze. We have also had some
uncharacteristically nice rain for December. Even though the ‘dry season’
officially began in December, we have had some abundant rain. Our tank is
overflowing and all ponds are nearly full, if not running over. Praise
the Lord with us for the abundant rain we have received.
Back in that latter part of October I came down with a very bad case of
tonsillitis. It had apparently been developing for a couple of weeks before
I finally realized what was going on. I had felt feverish off and on and
rather listless, and had been getting worse until I began taking
antibiotics. I was doing much better after I completed the drugs, but it
seems it is trying to hang on or return. Please remember to pray for
me to be completely healed from this.
For
the last month or so our attendance has been down. This happens every year
about this time. There are many ungodly and raunchy activities that go on
here with special festivals, etc. I suspect that some of our marginal folks
prefer to stop attending for a while rather than have to deal with the guilt
and conviction they will experience during services after they have been out
carousing and dancing with the devil. In years past the attendance usually
increases after the holidays and festivals are over. Yet, the services have
been good with those that do attend. Please pray for those marginal to
realize that the world has nothing to offer, but temporary pleasure that
often places them in debt that can take a life time to repay.
Another reason our attendance has been down is likely due to much sickness
that has plagued our island since we returned from the states in August. No,
I don’t think I brought the flu here -- er, at least I hope I didn’t. In any
case there have been many that have missed several services because of
fevers, diarrhea (here they call it ‘walking belly’), headaches, etc. We
also have a few older ladies that are having more and more trouble getting
out because of pain in the joints and sundry other problems. Please
pray for the health of the Robinsons and all the dear folk that attend
Windward Bible Church.
We
have had about three teens that have made professions of faith in Christ the
last couple of months -- for which we praise the Lord! We had been praying
for revival of our folks and the salvation of the lost here for a long time.
Thanks to you that have been praying with us. But please do not let up.
Please pray with us for the
salvation of many here, specifically those that have lived in the village of
Windward all of their lives. At times it seems that most hearts are as hard
as stone, with only a few showing a desire to grow and walk with the Lord
each day. They are very much bound by fear and tradition of the local church
that has been here for nearly five hundred years. It is often like trying to
gently break through stone to get through to their hearts with the
gospel. Our effort is difficult at best.
Over and over we have seen individuals and even families began to attend and
get excited with hearing the teaching of God’s word. Yet, too often the
priest and leaders of the local traditional church hear about these that
have ‘wandered’ and they confront and even threaten them, resulting in the
folks suddenly shutting us out of their lives. It is sickening and very,
very sad. Please pray specifically that the Lord will pierce the
darkness built around this village, and that we will have wisdom, health,
and godly determination to reach them as the Lord leads and provides.
We
had been planning for our annual Christmas program, which we have scheduled
to take place on Sunday, December 21. However, we have had so much sickness
that we have not been able to practice as we needed. Thus we are likely
going to have a time of singing and a special message tomorrow. We may still
have our program the following Sunday if enough people recover from the
illnesses and we can get in some practices. I guess this would be alright
since it is not written anywhere that the Christmas program must be held
before Christmas.
We
are also planning to visit the two nursing homes and hospital on Wednesday
the 24th, Christmas Eve. Please pray that each special
service and special work will glorify God and be used in the lives of all.
News Flash! You may now sit
in our services and HEAR some of our messages via the World Wide Web!
I am now posting some messages from many of our services
at
Windward Bible Church on our website,
Last Chance Ministries.com! I also have posted a sample of our Sunday
morning worship and fellowship time -- including our song service. All audio
files are in the world recognized MP3 standard. Thus, you should not need to
install anything or make any changes to your computer to listen.
So, as it gets colder and colder in other parts of the
world, connect to the Net, get a glass of warm tea or hot chocolate (or any
other favorite sanctified beverage), and join us at your convenience.

There should be no spaces

The tracking stats provided by my web server, and those
provided by others I use, gives me the following information (among other):
-
A pretty good idea of how many people visit
the site
-
For what they are looking when they come
-
From what part of the WORLD they come
-
What they view
-
How long they stay
-
How often they return at latter dates
The stats from the middle of December, 2003, indicate the
following:
-
Nearly 2000 people (increasing each
month) ‘visit’ each month. A ‘visit’ is a person that remains
longer than 30 seconds.
-
Nearly 30,000 visitors ‘hit’ our site, but
some 28,000 leave in less than 30 seconds. (NOTE: This is a conservative
estimate. Some stat services show that these figures are three time
larger!)
-
On average those that ‘visit’
longer than 30 seconds view 2.5 pages.
-
On average each true ‘visit’
lasts a little more than two minutes, while some remain an hour and
even longer.
-
Nearly 6,000 pages are viewed each
month. (Again, this is a conservative estimate. Other stats show this
figure could be three times larger!)
-
Since
October 15, 2001, people from nearly 150 different
countries, including many Muslim ones and
Israel,
have stopped by!
Can you image how many people and how much time and how much money it would
cost to get tracts to this many people?
Up
until when I began posting these audio files the beginning of December, most
visitors came to my website looking for information on Rastafarianism. (I
have an article on this subject that I posted a couple of years back.) Now
-- and in just three weeks -- more visitors come to LCM looking for ‘MP3
Sermons,’ ‘MP3 Audio Messages,’ ‘MP3 Bible Teaching,’ etc. I have been
thrilled that many of these requests come from overseas and particularly
from those that are Muslim. Many messages have already been accessed
(previewed, listened to, or downloaded) well over 100 times. Praise God who
promised that His world would not return to Him void. (Isaiah 55:11) Please
pray for the salvation of souls through this aspect of our ministry.
I
cannot think of a better Christmas present, than bringing the clear teaching
of God’s word to people all over the world. Just think of the number of
people that could be saved through the power of the Gospel as well as
believers needing encouragement or instruction from the Scripture!
Thanks again for your prayers, your support, your birthday and Christmas
cards, and your special gifts. We truly do appreciate you touching our lives
with yours.
Merry Christmas to all as we continue to look up
to Him,
Walter Robinson II

view it (Right Click to download, Left Click to view). I am sending
the same document via e·mail in text format—less the images. It is my
hope that all that desire to do so will be able to view it—and if they
desire—they can also print it out with all fonts and images just as I
have prepared it. The file size should be around 400k to 500k, which is
smaller than other formats. Most computers come with the Adobe Acrobat
reader installed. It may download it for free @

have it. (Note: this is the same format the
US government uses to publish its documents on the web.)
